Thelma Clark has served as Executive Director of Portland Festival Ballet since it was founded. After high school, Thelma moved to Hong Kong where she attended the Maxwell Institute and earned her Corporate Administration & Management degree. While in Hong Kong, she worked for major companies in several positions, including Marketing Executive for Asia/Pacific with Winter Partners, a banking software consulting firm, and Administrator of sales and marketing for the Asia/Pacific region branch of Business Week magazine. She served for many years as Community Relations Director for Portland Festival Ballet’s predecessor non-profit dance school, where she oversaw its community outreach programs, all aspects of its productions, including its yearly production of the Nutcracker. She combines her management skills with an unconditional commitment to the Portland Festival Ballet community. She is very involved with the arts, and a model of cultural diversity.
